Photo Contest It's easy to miss more than a few pleasantries at events like the Sugar Maple Traditional Music Festival. That's why we call on the photo journalist in all of us to share scenes and stories for our website and future newsletters! In the process, we'd like to annually honor and archive the best photograph submitted. Here’s what to do:

Design festival artwork for 2009! It's not too soon to think about designing artwork for the 2009 festival. Design entries should have the following components: - the text: "Four Lakes Traditional Music Collective presents the 6th Annual Sugar Maple Traditional Music Festival, Lake Farm County Park - Madison, WI" - a design that reflects the mission of the festival's sponsoring organization: "supporting the art of traditional music and dance throughout the greater Madison community. We provide educational and performance opportunities that bring together people of all ages to celebrate diverse musical traditions." The design should reproduce well in both color and grayscale. (Note, final produced poster size should be 8 x 16.5 including bleed. Handbills 2 x 8. All formatted to gang fit standard 11x17. Final poster and handbill design 4/c. Include versions of art that include layers, linked files, and fonts used. Acceptable formats are Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign. All text should remain so and not be rasterized.Layers should be clean and grouped well [all text on one layer, as example]. A "logo" should be developed from the poster: 300 dpi, 4" x 5" Color and grayscale versions.) Print or electronic contest entries are acceptable. Deadline for submissions is December 14, 2008 The designer whose work is chosen to be used for 2009 will work closely with FLTMC Promotions Team to develop design towards final production. In trade, the winning designer/firm will receive two free passes to the 2009 festival and will be recognized as a festival sponsor.
